Details
6 oz. showy native wildflower seed mix
Mix suitable for a 200 sq. ft. to 600 sq. ft. area. May be used in larger areas to supplement plantings or in smaller areas for a greater bloom density.
For best results, sow seeds in spring, early summer, or fall.
Planting Tips
Prepare soil by removing existing vegetation from desired planting area. This can be done by removing the top 0.5” of sod or ground cover with a shovel, or cutting back vegetation and covering with biodegradable landscaping fabric or wet news paper. If using the latter method, cover fabric or paper with a light layer of soil.
Hand sow seed mix on top of soil. Distribute evenly. May be covered with a light layer of soil, do not compact.
Supplement with water as needed.
For greatest wildlife benefit, do not cut back vegetation in the fall. In early spring, last year’s growth may be cut back to approximately 4” above the ground surface. This will allow the soil to warm and promote a strong growing season.
